ARUDHA

If the lords of signs in kendra (Quadrants) are in kendra, then their Arudha also falls in kendra. Hence the influence of kendra remains within the kendra position only. In other words,the energy of Arudha never deviates from kendra. There is a very famous couplet by Saint Kabir:

चलती चाकी देखकर दिया कबीरा रोय । दो पाटन के बीच में साबुत रहा न कोय ॥

Kabir says that, once the grain is caught in between two grinding stones then there is no escape for the grain and it is bound to get crushed. Similarly, man can never escape from birth and death and is bound to experience continuous degradation. Curiously, it is said that Kabir's son Kamal wrote an answer to his father's assertion.

Kamal wrote:

चलती चाकी देखकर दिया कमाल ठठाय । जो कीली से लग रहा वो साबुत रह जाय ॥

In the example of grinding stone, the grain which is close to the central bolt doesn't get crushed. Similarly, one who has found the center of his life (inner peace) will come out of the cycle of birth and death. Arudha shows this inclination towards kendra.
